| Attention
shoppers: The new Brownstone showroom in San Francisco is
now open for business. And the 2,700-square foot space was
designed by—you guessed it—SMDS. Unlike other
outposts of this furniture and accessories
emporium, the SF store is open to the public: so welcome designers
and
holiday shoppers alike!
The
showroom has gotten excellent reviews to date, we're thrilled
to report.
It's got a gracious, homey feel, stylish but accessible. The
space itself
features a 40-foot long stone wall, creating a rustic/modern
backdrop for
the displays and adding a raw sculptural element to the room.
Knowing that
the showroom would constantly need to be reconfigured to showcase
new
product, Steven designed freestanding walls that can "plug
in" anywhere in
the space-it's a design element that allows the showroom to
create fresh
vignettes with new wall coverings, furnishings, and accessories
. . . how's
that for a plug?
PSSST.
You didn't hear it from us, but this very showroom—as
well as Brownstone properties across the country—will
soon be carrying a new line of upholstered furniture and case
goods designed by, you guessed it, SMDS. Stay tuned for details
